Design and assessment of a steel superstructure with flats above an existing brick ground floor building, which houses commercial premises. The steel structure was designed with regard to the existing older brick part and its possibilities. The load on the brick structure from the superstructure was minimised, and some parts of the new steel structure reinforce the original brick structure. The two-storey superstructure contains modern maisonette flats. Our company is located on the ground floor of the building.
